Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time: thus it is the sacrament of apostolic ministry. It includes three degrees: episcopate, Presbyterian, and diaconate.

Three information sessions are planned for Catholic men of the Diocese of Pittsburgh interested in learning about diaconal ministry in response to Bishop Zubik's recent call for a new class in the Deacon Formation Program. Wives of prospective applicants are most welcome to attend. All sessions will be held in O'Connor Hall at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, 2900 Noblestown Road, Pittsburgh 15205.

Diaconate
The Capuchin Franciscans are searching for men whose dedication to serving others is surpassed only by their dedication to serving God. Discernment Retreats for Catholic men between the ages of 16 and 40 will be held on August 13-15 and October 8- 10, 2021. Experience joy and fraternity in a peaceful Franciscan settng. Take part in prayer, contemplation, Mass, confession and adoration at our Alverno Capuchin Retreat House in Salisbury, PA.
A Capuchin Formation Program Retreat will be held on November 5-7, 2021. This retreat is for students who choose to study in a seminary se ng in preparation for religious life. Come explore Borromeo Seminary and John Carroll University while spending the weekend in Cleveland, OH.
All retreats are FREE. Transportation can be provided if needed.
